Heartfullness - SOMO VILLAGE

Heartfullness SOMO is the third sculpture by Katy Boynton. She was impressed by SOMO Village’s commitment to transform the former technology plant and surrounding land into a community filled with gardens, art, wellness activities, and gathering spaces. This region has gone through many transitions of settlement over time, but the one thing carried over was a firm appreciation of the natural beauty of the area, which is what Boynton derived her inspiration from.

The exterior metal shapes represent the natural elements of water, land, fields, trees, mountain ranges, and the skyline with clouds, plus a hidden nod to the local city of Rohnert Park nestled in there. Whether visitors come during the day and see the beautiful rust exterior in the daylight or at night with colorful lights beaming, Heartfullness @ SOMO village is intended to inspire honoring the land and the community.
